📣 en grève 📣 🔥 À DOUBLE TRANCHANT 🔥 J’ai, depuis début novembre l’immense plaisir de prendre part à l’exposition collective À double tranchant, curatée par Sofie Vangor et qui réunit 5 artistes, @elodidole_antoine, @annabelleguetatra, @camille_dufour_, dorovanbisou et moi-même 🤝🏻 au sein de @la_galerie_centrale à Liège 📌 je remercie chaleureusement toutes les artistes que j’ai pris grand plaisir à connaître, toute l’équipe de la galerie, Sofie pour sa confiance en mon travail et qui m’a permis d’exposer des œuvres que beaucoup ne veulent pas voir exposer entre leurs murs 🔥

Cette tapisserie, Post manif, est née début 2025, d’une nécessité de crier haut au fort ma haine du fascisme et d’alerter sur sa dangereuse montée, présentement dans nos sociétés. En ces temps de grève générale en Belgique, il est plus qu’urgent de rejoindre et soutenir les mobilisations pour sauver la culture, les services publics et rendre possible une vie meilleure à nos amis.e.s, camarades, famille, collègues et inconnu.e.s croisé.e.s au hasard, broyé.e.s par les nouvelles mesures précarisantes de ce gouvernement Arizona, qui nous crache dessus et méprise nos existences, il est temps que ces élites tombent. Je ne cesserai de porter mes convictions à travers mes tapisseries, broderies et autres textiles en luttes.

Tout mon soutien aux grévistes, cheminots, membres des services publics, à mes collègues et pairs artistes et issus du milieu de la culture, pour une Palestine libre, dans les luttes contre les expulsions, les grandes projets inutiles et les gros pollueurs, les violences policières, les luttes féministes décoloniales et écologiques ✊🏻

Ce mercredi 12 novembre, vous étiez nombreuses et nombreux à assister à l’inauguration de la fresque du 19, rue Léon Frot, réalisée en hommage aux victimes des attentats du 13 novembre 2015. Inaugurée en présence de François Vauglin, Maire du 11e, d’Anne Hidalgo, Maire de Paris, des élus de la Ville de de l’arrondissement, des associations de victimes mais aussi de l’artiste Léa Belooussovitch, cette peinture murale évoque la résilience par la lumière et la couleur, jouant du flou pour rappeler à notre mémoire le souvenir des événements de 2015 avec respect, justesse et sensibilité.

Me seducing, us.
But all that remains decays. Rotten liquids, rotten lust – I wonder: where are we now?

This exhibition grew from a close collaboration between the work of Thomas Hitchcock and myself, conceived as a complete installation, with a subtle yet striking intervention by Rita Nobre responding to the work.

The exhibition can still be viewed until 10.07.2025. Open on weekends from 2-6pm and during the week by appointment.

We would also be happy to welcome you at the Finissage on Thursday, 10.07. between 16h and 20h.

This Sunday, 9th of March, is the opening of my solo-show “Unplanned Parrothood” at Rhizome in Kortrijk.

“Parrots were once thought to be brainless. Their imitation of human speech formed the antithesis of creativity and thus remained in the realm of the dumb. However, we must acknowledge their capabilities of reproducing language, and this without having vocal cords. Being able to reproduce sounds is one thing, but to use it to engage with and inform the world around them is another one. Although not always in a direct way, they conceal their announcements in riddles and metaphors, as cage-perch orators. They ring up and answer the phone themselves.”

Briefly Gorgeous, 2014-2024

in Success Evidente (Hidden Tracks), a solo exhibition at @alminerech in Brussels, until March 1st

The show consists of three groups of works.
The second of them is a group of 120 x 100 cm silkscreen on canvas titled Untitled (Briefly Gorgeous), printed in 2014 but dated 2014-2024.

«For Bernadet who believes in the primacy of color, painting is also an act of courtship. In this sensuous game of perception and persuasion, the artist gladly takes on the role of a hustler to keep the heroic tendencies of the medium at bay. In Untitled (Briefly Gorgeous) (2014-2024), a series of black and white silkscreened canvases showing different states of the same photograph of a flamboyant peacock sourced from the New York Public Library’s Picture Collection, the artist shows a healthy willingness to mess with his own discourse. Here is a suite of mechanically produced works where gaudy colors are summoned through their absence. »
